Hazaribag set for three-cornered contest

Hazaribag: A total of 16 candidates are finally in the fray for Hazaribag Lok Sabha seat, with out a contestant taking back their candidature at the end of the cut-off date for withdrawal of nominations. The combat, on the other hand, is largely expected to be amongst BJP’s Jayant Sinha, Congress’s Gopal Sahu and CPI’s B P Mehta. Returning officer-cum-deputy commissioner Ravi Shankar Shukla didn’t claim any person’s candidature as invalid after scrutiny. At a press conference, Shukla informed that symbols had been allotted to all.

“Candidates of national parties were given the registered symbols of their respective parties. The remaining contestants were alloted other symbols. Rajni Devi of Jai Prakash Janta Dal is the lone female candidate right here,” Shukla mentioned.
