Phiringia (Kandhamal): Farmers cultivating Kandhamal haldi (turmeric), which received the GI tag on April 1, need a device like paddy procurement for advertising and marketing of the unique natural product.
TOI met some turmeric farmers of Phiringia, around 25 km from Kandhamal’s district headquarters the town of Phulbani, to ask them about their expectancies from the election. The peasants said they'd advised the applicants who visited their villages to take in the subject of turmeric advertising and marketing.
