AHMEDABAD: Crime branch on Saturday arrested three persons — Jamil Butt and Shabbir Dar of Bandipora in Jammu and Kashmir and Harsh Shah of Dariapur — from close to the western finish of Nehru Bridge and seized charas worth Rs 10,15,500 from the trio.


Assistant commissioner of police Bhagirathsinh Gohil mentioned the 2 Kashmiris were hanging a care for Shah, who's allegedly into drug trafficking for roughly three years. “We were retaining an eye fixed on them. Soon officials from the Narcotic Bureau also reached there and we nabbed them. We have knowledgeable our opposite numbers in Jammu and Kashmir to trace a person named Riyaz who had sold the consignment to the 2 Kashmiris,” Gohil mentioned.


“Shah used to shop for charas from one Rashid Zargar and thru him had met the opposite two accused. As Zargar used to be stuck for drug trafficking a 12 months ago, Shah contacted the 2 Kashmiri youths Butt and Dar. Shah had advised them to carry charas for him to sell it in the town. Crime branch assets mentioned that Butt and Dar had bought the stuff from one Riyaz of Kupwara in Jammu and Kashmir,” mentioned Gohil.


“Both Butt and Dar came from Jammu and Kashmir to Ajmer in a automotive. They parked the car in Ajmer and boarded a private luxurious bus to Ahmedabad from there. They had then assembled close to the Sardar Garden on the western finish of Nehru Bridge to strike a care for Shah,” added Gohil.
