Rajasthan CM Ashok Gehlot on Wednesday said Ram Nath Kovind used to be made president of the country to steadiness caste equations forward of the assembly election in Gujarat in 2017. "PM Modi was afraid that he was not going to form the government in Gujarat. Amit Shah might have given him suggestion after which it was decided to make Kovind the president," Gehlot said.
