MOHALI: High drama was witnessed at Mohali railway station on Friday when a bailiff from a local court went to take the ownership of Chandigarh-Amritsar educate.
The motion got here after the court of additional district and session judge Monica Goyal issued orders for the attachment of the educate because the railway department failed to pay the repayment of the land acquired all the way through laying of the Chandigarh Amritsar railway tracks.
The orders for attachment had been issued in 2017 and the bailiff from the local court along with the complainants and the advocates reached the Mohali railway station to take the ownership. As the Chandigarh-Amritsar educate chugged in at the Mohali railway station the bailiff asked the driver of the educate to climb down the engine and handover the placement of a educate to the court. He also warned the driver that if he fails to take action then it will be taken as a contempt of the court. However, after the intervention of the higher authorities of the railway department after a lengthen of 130 minutes the educate persevered its journey.
The bailiff said that he has submitted his report of the complaints with the court with reasons that why the educate may just now not be connected.
Advocate Sher Singh Rathore and Kuldeep Rathore said that to put railway line in Mohali and Kharar the land of different villages was acquired. The land award was announced at Rs eight lakhs in step with acre.
Seeking enhancement the landowners had moved court and the land award was enhanced to Rs 17 lakh in step with acre.
However the railways failed to pay enhanced repayment that quantities to Rs 1 crore. So land owners Ajiab Singh, Swaran singh Chilla, Labh Singh, Mahinder Singh, Charan Singh moved court once more and sought attachment of the educate. The next listening to of the case is on May 29.
