NAGPUR: A newly laid garden, approved by means of leader minister’s particular fund, has almost been rendered useless for the voters in Prasad Nagar, Sonegaon.
Chief minister Devendra Fadnavis had approved Rs 18.20 lakh from his particular fund for development of the garden close to Sonegaon Lake in 2016-17. The NIT had laid out the garden and opened it for public in 2016 itself. The NIT also built a compound wall around the garden and a strolling track.
In 2017, the NMC set up a Green Gym on north side of the garden by means of spending nearly Rs 4 lakh underneath a scheme for putting in place 20 Green Gyms around the town at a cost of Rs 81.35 lakh. Thus, around Rs 22.26 lakh were spent at the garden.
Fadnavis had also approved Rs 40 lakh from the particular fund for development of a community corridor at the rear side of the garden last year. The NMC’s DPC cellular appointed Tarekar Constructions for executing the work. The location selected for the community corridor is adjacent to the garden. There is massive space at the west side of the garden from where development fabrics can be taken up to the web page. The contractor, however, demolished compound wall as a way to raise at the work. The contractor is using the garden’s main entrance to carry development subject matter to the spot leading to damage to the strolling track.
A precariously tilted electric pole is hovering above the strolling track. This aside, dumping of the fabric has also damaged greenery in one portion of the garden. The staff also park their automobiles haphazardly making it tough for voters to make use of the garden for the previous couple of months.
As the work is being performed, ultimate portion of the compound wall has also been damaged. The surface where the Green Gym equipments have been stored has been damaged making the use of the gym inconceivable.
When contacted, NMC engineers confident to discuss with the spot and unravel the issues. “The web page could be very congested and tough to work. We will attempt to chalk out best imaginable approach to verify the garden is safe,” they stated.
