Allahabad: The Allahabad additional classes pass judgement on on Monday rejected the intervening time bail application of Prof Rajendra Bihari Lal, vice-chancellor of Sam Higginbottom University of Agriculture, Technology and Sciences (SHUATS), Naini, in reference to a multi-crore financial institution fraud case. After rejection of application, Prof Lal used to be taken into judicial custody and despatched to prison.
As per a Supreme Court route dated April five, 2019, Prof Lal gave the impression within the trial court on Monday and moved the bail application within the case. However, the application used to be rejected by the chief judicial magistrate.

Thereafter, Prof Lal moved an application for intervening time bail earlier than the additional classes pass judgement on, who too rejected his application however directed to hear his common bail on April 17.

As per case record, an FIR used to be registered on May five, 2017, by assistant vice-president/branch supervisor of Axis Bank, Civil Lines, Allahabad. The FIR used to be registered under quite a lot of sections of IPC, including dishonest and legal conspiracy relating to defalcation thru illegal withdrawals from the accounts of SHUATS held with the stated financial institution. The alleged fraudulent withdrawals ran into over Rs 23 crores between March 1, 2014 and November 31, 2016.

Later, the police after investigation submitted a chargesheet towards the applicant. However, the applicant challenged the chargesheet earlier than the Allahabad High Court, which rejected his application on March 15, 2019.


Prof Lal then challenged the prime court order earlier than the Supreme Court, which on April five, 2019, declined to interfere. However, it directed Prof Lal to look earlier than the trial court at Allahabad on April 15, 2019. The apex court further noticed that if Prof Lal so appears, the trial court may believe whether or not the petitioner is entitled to any aid of bail.


During the court complaints, the recommend for the applicant contended that there is no evidence towards the applicant and he has been falsely implicated within the case. Hence, he's entitled for intervening time bail.


However, district government recommend (legal) Gulab Chandra Agrahri opposed the bail application, saying there may be enough evidence towards the applicant, subsequently, he is not entitled to an intervening time bail.
