Three professors of Kurukshetra University sanctioned research projects by Haryana Science and Technology Department

KURUKSHETRA: The Haryana Science and Technology Department (HSTD) on Tuesday sanctioned three research projects to three professors and scientists of various fields of Kurukshetra University (KU), told the senior officials of the dep. in Chandigarh.

As according to sources, Dr Ashok Khemka, fundamental secretary, HSTD told in Chandigarh that retaining in view the importance of Research within the field of Science and Technology, the budget below the Research and Development scheme could be further higher in order that high quality research could be performed for the upliftment of the socio-economic standard of the society. Khemka further told below this scheme, grant as much as Rs 20 lakh is sanctioned to the scientists or professors of Educational or Research Institute for carrying out Research and Development Project within the field of Science and Technology.

Three professors of KU were sanctioned different projects related to their field via the government.

Research venture on treatment of most cancers is sanctioned to Dr Ranjana Aggarwal, Department of Chemistry, KU. The research venture entitled `Multicomponent Domino manner in opposition to regioselective synthesis of functionalized fused azaheterocycles as DNA-targeting agents' goals to develop small nitrogen-containing organic molecules as medicine to regard most cancers. It is predicted that working out the interaction behaviour of azahetreocycles with DNA as intercalators or groove binders or as DNA cleavers will result in anticancer agents which can selectively acknowledge base pairs, sequences, and conformational features of nucleic acids.

Research venture on building of hybrid perovskite based totally power harvesters for small house gadgets is sanctioned to Dr Manish Kumar, Assistant Professor, Department of Physics, KU. In this paintings, the inorganic-organic hybrid perovskite based totally thin motion pictures for photo voltaic cellular programs will be synthesized. The benefits of these photo voltaic cells over traditional Si-solar cells come with their synthesis from solutions at low processing temperatures, top efficiencies (over 23 according to cent), low manufacturing price and attainable for enormous scale production ways corresponding to roll-to-roll printing. Like organic photo voltaic cells they can be put on versatile substrates and can be lightweight and semi-transparent. Perovskite photo voltaic cells can be the way forward for solar power if the thermal balance is advanced via a suitable doping.

Research venture on manufacturing of bioethanol from Parthenium is sanctioned to Dr Neeraj Kumar, Department of Microbiology, KU. Parthenium hysterophorus is often referred to as congress grass is one of the world's most devastating weeds. It used to be imported by chance in India as a contaminant at the side of a variety of wheat and since then it has unfold to all states of India. The reports have indicated that in India Parthenium hysterophorus has unfold over 35 million hectares house in 2018.
