The danger of landslides looms huge over the town, especially within the hilly terrains, within the coming monsoon season. As a precaution to this annual problem, the Kamrup (Metropolitan) district management has sent notices to about 200 households dwelling on about 19 hillocks within the better Guwahati space, asking them to vacate the landslide-prone zones immediately.
