In wake of the fact that there is a shortage of conventional areca nut tree climbers, farmers here are finding it tough to sustain the areca nut plantation. However, a 48-year-old farmer, Ganapathi, took it as a challenge and invented ingenious bike like equipment (driven through a motor) seated on which an individual can simply climb upto the top of vertical areca nut tree for spraying insecticides and plucking.
