KANPUR: Six members of a family were killed while four others injured when a rushing dumper rammed into a roadside makeshift area in Maharajpur police space of Kanpur on past due Friday evening.
The police rushed to the spot and recognized the deceased as Kallu Quereshi (55), his son Waseem (25), daughter Shameemun (18), daughter-in-law Yasmeen (23) and grand-daughters Kareena (16), Suhana (14).
Six other members of family together with Qureshi's spouse Sehrunisha and (52) and seven-month outdated grand-daughter Aliya, and two others, who suffered serious accidents have been admitted to the Kanshiram Trauma Centre and Lala Lajpat Rai health center.
The police stated that accident happened on Kanpur-Allahabad freeway in Maharajpur town in Kanpur when the motive force misplaced keep an eye on over the dumper and rammed it into a roadside makeshift area. The dumper laden with building subject material used to be on its approach to Kanpur from Allahabad and the victims were drowsing when the mishap happened. "The bodies were sent to mortuary for post-morterm. The driver of the dumper fled from the spot, leaving the vehicle behind," Station House Officer Maharajpur stated.
"An FIR has been registered against the absconding dumper driver and efforts were on to make his arrest possible," stated SSP Akhilesh Kumar Meena.
