Margao: Gram sabha participants of the Camurlim village panchayat in South Goa on Sunday determined to announce a high-quality of Rs five,000 on the ones found littering the village as well as a reward of Rs 1,000 to those who catch and photograph the violators.
Sarpanch Basilio Fernandes informed TOI that the gram sabha also unanimously resolved to oppose the proposed nationalisation of rivers and transportation of coal.
"Besides, another resolution was passed raising the house tax from the present Rs 5 to Rs 6. The villagers also inquired about the overnight erection of a mobile tower at Dollavaddo without the requisite permissions from the village panchayat. Now, a showcause notice has been pasted on the tower demanding that the documents be produced, else it will be treated as illegal with action taken as per the law," Fernandes mentioned.
Other issues raised on the assembly integrated dangerous stretches of roads alongside the state freeway passing during the village, wherein it used to be informed to the gram sabha participants that a illustration used to be offered to the PWD requesting pressing repairs. "We have received a circular that JAICA was to commence its work on October 15, but nothing has begun yet. I have asked our MLA to address the issues plaguing the village," he mentioned.
