Five arrested for destroying Padmavati rangoli in Surat

SURAT: Police arrested five men in Umra police station on Thursday for allegedly destroying the rangoli at a town mall on Sunday. The accused were booked for rioting and unlawful assembly on Wednesday evening.


Police booked Shailendra Rajput and Shanbhu Singh along side 10 others in Umra police station after the issue came to light via quite a lot of sections of media. Police are yet to arrest the opposite accused involved within the incident. The incident came below center of attention after Deepika Padukone expressed anger over the incident on her official twitter deal with. "We have arrested five men part of the group. We will arrest others who were part of the unlawful assembly," stated police.
