GREATER NOIDA: Nine years after Gautam Budh University was established in Greater Noida, its Vice Chancellor mentioned on Monday that they might soon post a suggestion for acquiring recognition from University Grants Commission (UGC) of India and accreditation from National Assessment and Accreditation Council (NAAC). The move is an effort to procure grants for the college besides creating a brand image.
Speaking to TOI, Vice Chancellor Prabhat Kumar, who also holds charge of Divisional Commissioner Meerut and Chairman Yamuna Expressway Authority, mentioned that the 2 have been his priorities. "Both proposals should be submitted by the end of next month," he mentioned. "No university or college is eligible for grants from the Central government unless accredited by NAAC, according to a UGC notification. Once we have both in place, it will raise the overall quality of higher education at GBU," Kumar defined including that it will also help build brand image of the college besides bringing within the budget.
Kumar additional mentioned that at the moment, the university was being funded by means of the costs won from scholars and by means of the 2 Authorities of Noida and Greater Noida. "An institution of such magnitude should not be wasted and used to its maximum potential, which is not being done," he mentioned.
