Gujarat Congress passes resolution for Rahul to take over as party chief

AHMEDABAD: The Gujarat Congress in a gathering on Monday, unanimously adopted a solution asking Rahul Gandhi to think responsibility as the nationwide president of the Congress. Gandhi is the currently vice-president of the All India Congress Committee.


During the assembly on Monday, the proposal was once moved by Gujarat Pradesh Congress Committee president Bharatsinh Solanki and seconded by leader of opposition Mohansinh Rathwa. The solution reads, "It is proposed to request national vice-president Rahul Gandhi to assume responsibility of national president of the party, to once again lead our country on the path of Gandhi-Nehru-Sardar and regain the glory of our country in the world and to take our country to newer heights."


The solution was once passed by a voice vote. During the assembly, it was once also resolved that with the exception of Navsarjan Gujarat, the birthday celebration will use the slogan 'Khushal Gujarat' (A Happy Gujarat). Congress spokesperson Manish Doshi stated that when voted to energy the Congress will bring again smiles on the faces of the folks. "Happiness quotient is necessary in the state which has seen a run for GDP over the past few years. The people, be they farmers or students, all are unhappy and hence we want to make these people happy," stated Doshi.
