ALLAHABAD: A joint staff of Colonelganj police and crime branch arrested two youths in reference to Bahujan Samaj Party (BSP) chief Rajesh Yadav homicide case, on Sunday. The BSP chief used to be shot lifeless on the intervening night time of October 2 and 3 by means of a gaggle of miscreants near Tarachand hostel highway in Colonelganj.
The arrested youths, known as Antesh Pratap Singh alias Jagga and Ashutosh Singh, both residents of Pratapgarh, were preparing for aggressive assessments.
SSP, Allahabad, Anand Kulkarni instructed TOI, "The police have been looking for the prime accused identified as Aakash who had allegedly opened fire on the BSP leader near the hostel road on the fateful night."
SSP added that, "A joint team of Colonelganj police and crime branch, acting on a tip-off, arrested the two of the miscreants wanted in connection with BSP leader murder case near Mazar tihara while they were plotting to escape from the city."
He additional claimed, "The arrested youths revealed that they got a phone call that someone was creating nuisance at the hostel and on reaching outside the hostel they had exchanged heated arguments with the slain BSP leader".
They claimed that they were also assaulted and threatened by means of the chief and there used to be an alternate of fireplace from both the perimeters. In the interim, a youth known as Akash reached near the BSP chief's automobile and opened hearth on him.
The youths instructed the police that the automobile used to be to begin with moved at a distance after which stopped. And then the crowd members pelted stones on the automobile and escaped.
The SSP, meanwhile, said that some of the arrested youths Antesh Pratap Singh completed his BA in political science in 2014 while another Ashutosh Singh used to be preparing for aggressive assessments.
"Police have been compiling the details of Aakash including his background and whether he was a student or not," said the SSP additional claimimg that the picture can be clear after the arrest of the high accused.
