HUL Q2 net goes up 16% to Rs 1,276 crore as costs dive

NEW DELHI: FMCG main Hindustan Unilever Ltd (HUL) on Wednesday reported a 16.42 per cent increase in its standalone net profit at Rs 1,276 crore for the September quarter, mainly as a result of decrease bills.

The corporate had posted a net profit of Rs 1,096 crore during the same period of the former fiscal, HUL mentioned in a regulatory filing.

Net sales during the quarter underneath overview stood at Rs 8,199 crore as towards Rs 8,335 crore within the year-ago period, down 1.63 per cent.

HUL's bills in the second quarter had been down 5.95 per cent at Rs 6,748 crore compared to Rs 7,175 crore during July-September remaining fiscal.

"In a challenging business environment, we delivered a particularly strong overall performance. This reflects the strength of our brands and our relentless focus on execution in the market place," HUL Chairman Harish Manwani mentioned.

Standalone net profit remaining quarter stood at Rs 1,283 crore.

Revenue from the private care phase during the quarter in query used to be at Rs three,910 crore as towards Rs 4,028 crore a 12 months previous. The figure from homecare stood at Rs 2,739 crore compared to the earlier Rs 2,777 crore.


The refreshment class chipped in with Rs 1,222 crore during the quarter as towards Rs 1,169 crore in the past.


On outlook, Manwani mentioned: "Despite short-term challenges, we are confident of the medium-term outlook for the FMCG industry and remain focussed on driving consumer value and profitable volume driven growth."


Meanwhile, the corporate's board has declared an period in-between dividend of Rs 8 per share of face worth Re 1 each and every for the 12 months that ends next March.


HUL's inventory closed 0.18 per cent up at Rs 1,273.55 on the BSE.
