NEW DELHI: Set to make a comeback subsequent season, tainted groups Chennai Super Kings and Rajasthan Royals might be allowed to retain players who played for Rising Pune Supergiants and Gujarat Lions in the final two years, going through a suggestion floated through the IPL Governing Council.

The proposal if permitted will mean that Dhoni, who played for Pune Supergiants in the final two editions, shall be robotically retained through CSK. Ditto for Suresh Raina or Ravindra Jadeja, who played for Gujarat Lions.
