RAJKOT: The common board meeting of Rajkot Municipal Corporation (RMC) changed into stormy because the corporators of ruling BJP and opposition Congress entered into a scuffle over more than a few construction problems. The opposition alleged misbehaviour of BJP corporator Uday Kangad and boycotted the meeting difficult his apology.
"We wanted to discuss the issue affecting people of Rajkot like water scarcity, mosquito menace and epidemic-like situation. But ruling party wanted to waste the time over discussion on miscellaneous issues. Kangad humiliated the Congress corporators and we had demanded his apology," alleged Vashram Sagathiya, leader of opposition. Uday Kangad could no longer be reached for comment.
As the board meeting began, the opposition demanded that civic problems be mentioned which the ruling celebration rejected. Opposition corporators insisted on dialogue on water scarcity in the town and entered the well of the hall. According to witnesses there have been heated arguments between the corporators of both the celebration and Kangad allegedly abused the Congress corporators.
Rajkot mayor Dr Jaimin Upadyay alleged, "It was a pre-decided agenda of Congress because they know that we have solved the water scarcity problem of the city."
