Udhagamandalam: A revenue inspector (RI) of Gudalur municipality in the Nilgiris was arrested on graft fees by means of the officers of DVAC, on Wednesday.
According to Geethalakshmi, Inspector of Police, DVAC, Abdul Ahadu, a resident of Gudalur owns a store falling inside the Gudalur municipality restrict. To download electricity connection for his shop, Ahadu wanted a NOC from the municipality. When he approached the municipal revenue inspector, Kadhar Basha Khan for NOC, he demanded bribe to factor the certificates.
"Ahadu lodged a complaint in this connection on October 19. We conducted our regular preliminary investigations to ascertain the case", Geethalakshmi instructed TOI. On Wednesday, the municipal RI was stuck red handed by means of the DVAC officers whilst receiving Rs 2500 from Ahadu. A case was registered and Kadhar Basha Khan was arrested, stated Geethalakshmi.
