BEIJING: China's Communist Party added President Xi Jinping's title to its charter on Tuesday, confirming his status because the nation's maximum robust chief in many years.


Xi presided over the remaining consultation of the birthday party's twice-a-decade congress as 2,300 delegates unanimously approved the constitutional amendment, placing his title alongside Mao and marketplace reformer Deng Xiaoping.
