Coimbatore: Two ganja peddlers were arrested from separate puts in the town on Tuesday. Police additionally seized 1.35kg ganja from the duo.
RS Puram (law&order) police sub-inspector Chellamani and crew had apprehended 65-year-old Ok Lakshmanan of Mariamman Kovil Street at Ponkaliyur in Veerakeralam sporting 1.10kg of ganja for gross sales close to a temple at Muthannan Kulam Junction on Thadagam Road on Tuesday evening. The contraband used to be seized and Lakshmanan used to be remanded in judicial custody. Further investigation is on.
In the second incident, Saravanampatti police sub-inspector Kathivelu and crew arrested 27-year-old P Baby Rout of Sivanandapuram close to Saravanampatti for possession of 250 grams of ganja for gross sales in front of CMS College at Chinnavedampatti on Tuesday. He used to be remanded in judicial custody.
