Century-old relics of Fr Agnelo touch scores of devotees

PILAR: Devotees thronging the hillock for the novena of Venerable Fr Agnelo D'Souza's 90th dying anniversary are lucky to peer century-old relics utilized by the saintly priest, as those have been displayed for the primary time to mark the numerous instance.

A white cassock that has now yellowed with time, a Holy Cross from Rachol Seminary, a beretta and prayer books utilized by the missionary priest of St Francis Xavier Society of Pilar have been saved in a cabinet in the monastery church for show.

The priest regularly known as a 'True Man of God' labored as a missionary in Kumta, Karnataka, and lived for 10 years in Pilar previous to 1917.
