NEW DELHI: Congress vice-president Rahul Gandhi on Monday hit out at Prime Minister Narendra Modi for his silence on the contentious Rafale fighter jets deal and the allegations of monetary irregularities towards BJP leader Amit Shah's son Jay Shah.
Keeping up his attack towards the ruling BJP ahead of the prime stakes Gujarat assembly polls, Rahul took to Twitter to ruminate why the Prime Minister chose to remain mum on these two arguable issues that experience sparked a confrontation between the federal government and the opposition.

The Prime Minister's accusations sparked an outcry from the Congress, which asked Modi to not politicise the issue of terrorism and reminded him that many of its leaders have sacrified their lifves in preventing terrorism.
"The BJP might see politics in terrorism, but I would like to tell my BJP friends and PM Modi that the history of the Congress is full of martyrdom in fighting terrorism and thousands and lakhs of Congressmen have sacrificed their lives for India," Congress spokesperson Randeep Surjewala advised PTI.
