Cong seeks tax waiver for hockey ground

Vadodara: Opposition Congress in the Vadodara Municipal Corporation (VMC) has demanded that the civic body waive off the taxes for hockey floor of the Baroda District Hockey Association (BDHA).


The floor was once first sealed by means of the VMC following which the royal circle of relatives that owns the bottom paid Rs 31lakh against the pending amount of round Rs 31.6 lakh. The floor has now been locked by means of its homeowners. The hockey gamers had made representations to the VMC regarding the floor on Thursday to which the VMC had expressed helplessness pronouncing that it was once a matter between the affiliation and the royal circle of relatives that is the proprietor of the plot.


VMC opposition chief Chandrakant Shirvastava stated that the affiliation was once giving training to gamers at a negligible charges. He added that the affiliation was once in no position to pay the tax. tnn
