NOIDA: A man killed his 18-year-old daughter for allegedly speaking to any person at the phone late night in Sadarpur village of Sector 45 on Friday. The woman used to be a Class 12 scholar at a private college within the area.
The woman's father, Vijendra Singh Chauhan, has been arrested and a case of homicide has been registered towards him at Sector 39 police station. He owns some ancestral land and a house within the village, and works in a private company.
Avnish Dixit, SHO, Sector 39 police station said, the woman lived along with her father and elder brother, Himanshu. The woman's mother had kicked the bucket a few years in the past. Chauhan had suspected the woman of speaking to any person on phone on late nights. "He had asked his daughter to focus on studies and also warned against talking to people late night. He suspected his daughter of having an affair. On Friday night, when he saw her talking on the phone, he strangulated her to death in a fit of rage," said Dixit.
Chauhan then known as the police keep watch over room and informed concerning the homicide. A police group reached his home and rushed the woman to a nearby health facility the place she used to be declared introduced dead.
"The murder took place on the ground floor of his home. The man confessed to his crime as he was not happy with his daughter's behaviour," said Dixit. Her elder brother used to be sound asleep at the first ground and he used to be no longer mindful concerning the homicide.
"The man was sent to judicial custody on Saturday after being produced in the court. The body of the girl has been sent for post-mortem and reports are awaited," added Dixit.
