TIRUPUR: Tension prevailed on the district-level session assembly of AIADMK as supporters of chief minister Edappadi Okay Palaniswami and deputy chief minister O Panneerselvam exchanged heated arguments on the district urban unit administrative center right here on Sunday.
The assembly was once held to speak about matters associated with the first dying anniversary of former chief minister J Jayalalithaa and the impending RK Nagar bypoll.
The issues started when Shanmugam, former Tirupur panchayat union chairman, raised concerns about urban district secretary M S M Anandan's private assistant Shajahan posting needless comments towards the deputy CM Panneerselvam and sought action towards him.
When Shanmugam attempted to sign in his comments additional, his microphone was once switched off. Anandan too chipped in and asked him not to speak about the issue as it may be addressed latter.
But, chaos prevailed for approximately 15 mins as the supporters of EPS and OPS exchanged heated arguments, forcing Anandan to rapidly end the assembly.
