GURUGRAM: Ankit Avasthi (27), who was once severely injured after allegedly jumping in entrance of a teach in Sikanderpur Metro station on Thursday, gave his statement to the police on Friday where he claimed that he hadn't tried suicide but had fallen in an drunk state.
"Avasthi revealed that he had consumed alcohol in large quantity and was on his way to meet someone in Delhi when the accident happened. Due to his drunken state, he lost balance and fell on the tracks just when the train was entering the platform," said inspector Kanta Devi, SHO, Metro police station, Gurgaon.
Avasthi's father and elder brother arrived in Gurgaon on Friday morning and upon getting clinical clearance and police's approval shifted Avasthi back to Kanpur. They informed police officers that they might not have enough money his treatment in Gurgaon.
According to the police, before discharge doctors informed Avasthi's family that he would require right kind clinical treatment as his accidents had been deep and contemporary.
Avasthi had come to Gurgaon on Wenesday to sign up for work at a Gwalpahari-based company.
However, on Thursday evening he had allegedly jumped in entrance of a Metro and was once rushed to a private hospital with multiple accidents, including a deep cut on his head and fractures in his arm.
