Coimbatore: Okay Periaiah IPS on Saturday took price as town police commissioner.
The town isn't new to Periaiah as he had performed his below commencement and post-graduation at the Tamil Nadu Agricultural University right here in 1980s.
While addressing the media at his place of business chamber, Periaiah said recommended motion would be taken on the petitions from the general public. He said steps would be taken to cut back site visitors congestion based on the narrow roads and the increasing choice of car registrations.
"My main focus areas are crime prevention and traffic. The traffic issues will be addressed with the help of people's suggestions," Periaiah said.
The IPS officer, who is a fitness freak and athlete, used to be awarded Mr TNAU and Mr Madras University during his college days.
He used to be captain of soccer, athletics and swimming at Vivekananda College in Chennai. He used to be the Coimbatore district soccer participant and hockey crew captain at the TNAU. He represented the Tamil Nadu police badminton crew within the all India police badminton championship up to now seven years and bagged the gold medal within the championship.
