HUBBALLI: While lack of firewood and position for acting the last rites of our bodies had been adding to the woes of those who lost their near and dear ones, an electrical crematorium, which will be constructed on the Harishchandra Ghat within the city, is going to handle the ones issues.
The Hubballi Dharwad Smart City Limited (HDSCL) is establishing the electrical crematorium at an estimated price of Rs 1.7 crore. Special officer of HDSCL, N H Naregal, advised TOI that the electrical crematorium will be constructed on a 1,500 sq.mt house. Burning of our bodies is a major factor within the city limits. The dual cities have scarcity of firewood and it's expensive too.
"Even if the firewood is available, the bodies are not burnt completely as the wood is not fully dried. Then there is shortage of space in cemeteries to bury the bodies. The electrical crematoriums are playing a major role in addressing these issues. While the gas crematoriums are expensive, the electrical crematoriums are comparatively less expensive. In electric cremation, wood is not burnt and there are no gas emissions. It helps in saving resources like wood, kerosene etc," he mentioned.
The legit mentioned that people are increasingly preferring to cremate our bodies within the electric gadgets rather than practising conventional strategies. "While there is an electrical crematorium at Maruthi Nagar, it has been defunct since the past 15 years as the heating takes much time. This crematorium will be also be redeveloped by the Hubballi-Dharwad Municipal Corporation (HDMC)," Naregal mentioned.
The proposed electric crematorium at Harishchandra Ghat may have an AWL cremator, combustion air provide system, wet scrubber (vane sort), self supported stack, control panel and guide dead frame charging systems. "The chamber will be designed in such a way that the head of the deceased faces south as per the requirement of priests to perform 'Uttara Kriya'," he mentioned.
Generally it prices Rs 2,000-Three,000 to burn our bodies with firewood whilst the fee will be comparatively much less when the electrical crematorium becomes operational.
