PATNA: JD(U) on Saturday skilled its weapons at former Prime Minister Manmohan Singh, whose office has been installed "dock" in 2G spectrum judgment and demanded motion towards PMO's two senior officials in the case.
"Following the 2G judgment on Thursday, Congress is saying that their stand has been vindicated. But if one goes through the 2G judgment, then it would be seen that it is the office of former PM Manmohan Singh, which has been put in the dock," JD(U) nationwide basic secretary and Rajya Sabha MP Ramchandra Prasad Singh instructed journalists right here.
He added: "Adverse comments have been made against two former secretaries of the PMO- Principal Secretary T K Nair and Pulok Chatterjee- in the 2G judgement. In view of the 2G judgement, we (party) demand action against them in the matter."
Earlier, a unique court in Delhi on Thursday acquitted former telecom minister A Raja, DMK MP Kanimozhi and all different accused in the politically-sensitive 2G spectrum allocation scam case and held that the prosecution "miserably failed" to turn out the fees.
Singh, who could also be JD(U) chief in Rajya Sabha, said that persons are also deciphering the coal-gate judgment but it surely was once surprising to look that the coal secretary Harish Gupta was once convicted however the former PM Manmohan Singh were given away in the case particularly when he put his signature as coal minister.
"I served in the IAS and was a UP cadre officer. People know about the conduct and integrity of Harish Gupta, the then coal secretary but he was convicted. But the former PM Manmohan Singh who put his signature as coal minister on the file got away completely in the case," he said while questioning as to how Manmohan Singh were given away in the case.
In respond to a question that Enforcement Directorate (ED) filed a fee sheet towards RJD chief Lalu Prasad's eldest daughter and Rajya Sabha MP Misa Bharti and her husband Shailesh Kumar, Singh said that if ED has filed a fee sheet, then it should have evidence differently it will have filed the overall record.
