LONDON: Ranjit Dheer, a leading Indian-origin magistrate councillor, has been honoured by means of Queen Elizabeth II with a prestigious award for his products and services to the United Kingdom govt.
Announcing this the legit govt publication, the London Gazette stated Dheer was first elected as a councillor in Ealing in 1982 and has won eight local govt elections prior to now 35 years.
Dheer, 75, was named in the New Year Honours listing for 2018 for products and services to local govt.
During this long period, he has served the borough as a chair of many committees, school boards and public our bodies in addition to a deputy mayor and mayor.
He is the longest-serving deputy leader of the council in the United Kingdom, having been first elected to this submit in 2005.
