Anantkumar Hegde at it again, says writers scribble only to get govt plots

BELAGAVI/KALABURAGI: Union minister Anantkumar Hegde, who slightly a month ago tendered an apology in Parliament for hard the Constitution be changed, has courted every other controversy.
On a two-day discuss with to Belagavi and Kalaburagi, Hegde stated intellectuals and litterateurs show off their works only to bag executive plots. Hegde's remarks draw complaint from writers

All those folks lack vision (drishti dosha). They must stop making such sweeping remarks."


A video of Hegde's remarks went viral on Wednesday and drew flak from writers. Chief minister Siddaramaiah claimed it was a "waste of power" to react to Hegde's statements and added: "Being an MP, he must understand how to act and speak. He is an irresponsible fellow."


Hegde continued his tirade in Kalaburagi. Speaking after inaugurating a role truthful organized by means of the Hyderabad-Karnatak Chamber of Commerce, he claimed politicians who should not have the vision to expand "this (Hyderabad-Karnatak) area" are "naalayaks". He stated the function of elected representatives was no longer limited to inaugurating works.


In an oblique attack on Congress leaders from the area, Hegde stated there were too few industries in the area. The reason why, he stated, was a lack of passion on the part of native representatives. "There must be at least 25-30 industries," he said. "People have no longer been elected to indulge in amusing and masti (frolic). Those who can not perceive the problems of this area...must be condemned. If folks of Hyderabad-Karnatak area come ahead to open a brand new varsity for ability building, I am ready to supply it."
