BHUBANESWAR: To loose the periphery of Biju Patnaik International Airport of stray livestock, the Bhubaneswar Municipal Corporation (BMC) on Friday launched a distinct force. The airport government had earlier brought this risk to the notice of the civic frame.
The stray animals pose a risk in the airport's operational spaces and outside the boundary. The canines leave animal waste with reference to the airport boundary that pulls birds. Officials said BMC has additionally deliberate to organize a list of the livestock owners close to the airport space. "The database will help us contact them in case they don't come to claim the animal. A warning will also be issued to them not to leave their cattle for grazing near the airport," said Patnaik.
The BMC has formed a team of atmosphere engineers from Swachh Bharat Abhiyan cell for special monitoring of airport space.
