First Gurgaon brick kiln with new green technology goes live

GURGAON: In a first within the city, a brick kiln in Hariyaheda village has started operations after successfully putting in the zig-zag generation, which reduces suspended particulate subject and black carbon emissions whilst saving coal consumption.
Now, five extra brick kilns have implemented for the permission to use the brand new generation, said a source at Haryana State Pollution Control Board (HSPCB).

Until December 2017, 8 brick kilns had installed the zig-zag generation and implemented for using the similar, after the district administration imposed a ban on brick kilns in Gurgaon and Nuh area in September. The ban came after an order from National Green Tribunal (NGT) as conventional strategies used in kilns are extremely polluting.

Chairman of the HSPCB, A Ok Khetarpal gave his nod for get started of operations at the Hariyaheda brick kiln after sporting out an inspection there.

Khetarpal asked questions concerning the gas consumption, the work float and the technical facets within the new generation.


Jai Bhagwan, regional officer of HSPCB, said, "It's a good development that brick kilns are moving to green technology. We hope that more companies will take a note of it and install the zig-zag technology."


He added, "The applications by the brick kilns confirm that many have installed the zig-zag technology already. These applications will first go to our headquarters in Haryana and then to the environment pollution control authority (EPCA). EPCA will inspect the kiln and give them approval to operate."


There are 101 brick kilns within the district. A total of 95 are positioned in Nuh, Punhara and Firozpur Jhirka in Mewat and six are positioned in areas just about Sohna Road and Basai Road. Brick kilns free up harmful pollutants corresponding to carbon monoxide, sulphur dioxide, nitrogen oxides and suspended particulate.
