CALAIS: President Emmanuel Macron vowed Tuesday that France would now not allow some other migrant camp like the notorious "Jungle" to spring up within the port of Calais.
"In no case will we allow another Jungle here," he said in a speech within the northern city, as his executive places drive on Britain to contribute extra to dealing with migrants in search of to go the Channel.

"Everything is being done to prevent illegal crossings," Macron said, saying Calais should now not be used as an "entry door" to Britain.

The executive of Macron's Socialist predecessor Francois Hollande dismantled the Jungle -- a squalid camp that at its peak was once house to a couple 10,000 other people -- in October 2016.
