Kollywood actress held for conning men alleges sexual harassment in police custody

COIMBATORE: Kollywood actor P Shruthi, who has been in police custody for the remaining 10 days in reference to allegedly conning a person and escaping along with his cash and valuables, on Wednesday alleged that she have been sexually pressured and tortured by officers of the City Crime Branch of the Coimbatore police.
When police produced Shruthi, her mom Chitra and her foster father Prasanna Venkateshan ahead of a judicial Justice of the Peace court docket here, she alleged that police officers had stripped her and made her crawl at the floor.

She advised pass judgement on M Nambirajan that police team of workers had stopped the harassment when she had threatened to dedicate suicide. The pass judgement on listened to her allegations. The pass judgement on despatched the trio in judicial custody.


The CCB registered a case according to a criticism filed by Santhosh Kumar, a native of Namakkal, in 2016. She cheated Santhosh by promising to marry him and escaped with Rs 43 lakh and valuables.


In a equivalent fashion, she allegedly cheated Ramachandran of Nagapattinam of Rs 8.54 lakh, Kathiravan Ganesh of Udhagamandalam of Rs 4.84 lakh, Arunkumar of Bengaluru of Rs 8.43 lakh, Isakkimuthu of Tirunelveli of Rs 3 lakh, Amuthan Venkateshan of Chennai of Rs 4 lakh and Vijay from Krishnagiri of Rs 2.99 lakh. Whenever the sufferers demanded their cash, Shruthi threatened them announcing that she would resort a criticism towards them ahead of the National Human Rights Commission.


Besides the case being probed by the CCB, two other cases had been registered towards her in Coimbatore.


The CCB has sought the trio's police custody for seven days. The court docket will listen the petition on Thursday.
