Vijayapura: The first additional district and periods courtroom sentenced a person to life imprisonment and slapped a penalty of Rs 1.10 lakh for murdering his spouse.
Suspecting the constancy of his spouse Yallavva, Yankappa Nagappa Gollar of Kudagi village murdered her at Kolhar village in Basavana Bagewadi taluk on May 29, 2015. He reportedly dedicated the crime in an drunk state.
Following variations between the couple over the issue, Yallavva had stayed at her folks' space in Kolhar for one-and-a-half-months. When Yankappa went there to take his spouse back, his partner's mother insisted that he can achieve this simplest after consulting the elders. Irked on the recommendation, Yankappa killed his spouse.
