Odisha: Government appoints new collectors in eight districts

BHUBANESWAR: As many as 8 districts get new creditors as part of a bureaucrat reshuffle by means of the state govt on Tuesday. New district creditors had been appointed in Dhenkanal, Balangir, Koraput, Keonjhar, Gajapati, Malkangiri, Balasore and Nabarangapur.
With appointment of latest creditors, speculations are rife that the ruling celebration has started preparation for the imminent common and meeting elections scheduled in April, 2019.

According to sources, senior BJD leaders including one of the most cupboard ministers had been lobbying for appointment of favourable officers as creditors of their districts. More districts would get new creditors soon, sources mentioned.

According to a notification issued by means of the overall management division, N Thirumala Naik and Ashish Thakare swapped their positions as district creditors of Balangir and Keonjhar respectively.

Okay Sudarshan Chakravarthy, who was looking after development means of tribal-dominated and Maoist-infested Malknagiri district, is transferred as Koraput collector, every other tribal-dominated district.

Koraput collector Anupam Saha is transferred as new district collector of Gajapati instead of Sudhanshu Mohan Samal as the latter is posted as new director, horticulture.

Manish Agarwal has been appointed as collector, Malknagiri. Agarwal is these days posted as government director, Centre for Modernizing Government Initiative (CMGI), under the state GA division.

Nikhil Pavan Kalyan, these days posted as commissioner of the Berhampur Municipal Corporation is transferred and posted as collector, Dhenkanal as the incumbent Bhupendra Singh Poonia is transferred to state management.

Poonia has been appointed as undertaking director, Odisha Primary Education Programme Authority (OPEPA). He has also been given additional fee to go the Rashtriya Madhyamik Sikhaya Yojana and Adarsh Vidyalaya Sangathan.

Shalini Pandit, who was lately also appointed as state undertaking director, OPEPA, would proceed as managing director, National Health Mission.

Senior OAS officer Ajit Kumar Mishra is new collector, Nabarangapur instead of Rashmita Panda, who is transferred as chief government officer of the Rourkela Smart City Limited. Panda may also maintain the assignments as commissioner, Rourkela Municipal Corporation and vice chairperson, Rourkela Development Authority.


Union tribal affairs minister Jural Oram lately instructed chief minister Naveen Patnaik to nominate devoted officer for Smart town undertaking of Rourkela that falls under his Lok Sabha constituency.


Another OAS officer Ramesh Chandra Rout is posted as collector, Balasore instead of Pramod Kumar Das, who has been transferred to the state secretariat. Das is appointed as additional secretary, state making plans and convergence division.


Tamil Nadu cadre IAS officer Archana Patnaik, who is on inter-state deputation, is given additional fee as CMGI at the side of her current place, managing director, Odisha State Medical Corporation.


While Akshaya Kumar Parida is posted as special secretary of wooded area and environment division whilst Pravat Kumar Lenka is posted as additional secretary, public enterprises division.
