BELAGAVI: Three riders on a single motorcycle and a schoovan motive force after the 2 automobiles collided at Khotantatti Cross on Jevargi-Sankeshwar State Highway in Athani taluk on Thursday.
As many as 15 students of KHPS Manik Prabhu Kannada Senior Primary School in Aigali were injured in the accident which happened when the motorcycle hit the van. As a result, the schoolvan hit a roadside.
Bike riders Danappa Magadum, 40, Manohar Dodamani, 35, and Appasab Marathe, 46, of Yalahadagi village, and van motive force Siddanagiri Pujeri, 25, of Aratal village died at the spot. The motorcycle riders were returning to their village after attending a fair in Aratal village. The injured students were admitted to Athani taluk sanatorium and personal hospitals in Miraj.
A case has been registered in Aigali police station.
