JHANSI: A 70-year-old man was arrested for raping a five-year-old lady in Maharajganj village under limits of Pooch police station in Jhansi on Friday.
As in step with police reviews, the accused was identified as Sadhuram and he raped the girl after managing to entice the minor at the pretext of enjoying in the fields.
Later, the girl's parents came upon that she was bleeding from her private portions they usually approached the police.
On being arrested, the accused denied raping the minor and said that the girl had slipped in the fields and had ended up hurting herself. The lady belonged to the Scheduled Caste group.
A FIR has been lodged in the Pooch police station in opposition to Sadhuram under section 376 IPC, section 3/4 of the POCSO Act and section 325 of the SC/ST Act.
Circle Officer (Poonch) Asha Pal Singh, said, "We are waiting for the reports of the girl's medical examination for further investigation. In the meantime, we have lodged an FIR against the accused and have arrested him."
