Ballari: A conflict between two groups all over a Chatrapati Shivaji Jayanti birthday celebration created pressure in Kamalapura of Hosapete in Ballari district on Monday. Police confident to take action towards the accused.
The conflict used to be caused when the procession as a part of the Jayanti reached `Tipu Maha Abhimanigala Vedike’. Some miscreants tried to remove its identify board to which Vedike contributors objected. Police then dispersed the mob and then the procession persevered.
By the time the programme ended, two to a few youths using two wheelers pelted stones at a mosque and broke windowpanes. Police said, “We are checking several CCTV footages to identify the miscreants. The incident took place after the procession, once we were busy in the public tournament. The state of affairs is now under control.”
