Buses away on election duty add to commuters' woes

GUWAHATI: Citizens are having a difficult time commuting daily after masses of city buses had been taken away on election accountability to the neighbouring states. More than 300 city buses are away on election accountability in Nagaland these days. Though greater than 1200 buses are registered with the district transport place of business in Guwahati, now not they all are in a functioning situation. A best authentic of the transport department said the commuter woes will proceed until the final week of February.

"As I normally use city buses to go to my office, this sudden decrease in number of buses has put people like me in deep crisis. For the last several days, I had to struggle to sufficient spaces even to stand on the buses I boarded," said Basanta Kalita, a resident of Bharalumukh.
