Goa government to provide sanitary pads at construction sites

PANAJI: In a bid to give a boost to menstrual hygiene amongst feminine development staff, the Department of Labour & Employment has determined to install sanitary pad doling out machines at commercial estates, development sites and government-run education institutions. The benefit is expected to be introduced in April and chief minister Manohar Parrikar is expected to make a budgetary allocation in his Budget for 2018-19.

The resolution was taken on Thursday at a board assembly chaired by way of minister for labour and employment Rohan Khaunte.


"Dispensing units will be setup throughout the industrial estates, high schools and places where children of these workers or the workers are directly working. There will be an incineration points and this will provide a lot of sanitation and give a sense of hygiene to the people," Khaunte mentioned.
