Belagavi:Women normally oppose bars and liquor retail outlets in their spaces, but a bunch of women, along with a few men, from Kagwad collected outside the deputy commissioner's place of work on Monday, demanding that an MSIL shop be opened in their town.
The women say there are lots of personal liquor retail outlets in Kagwad town, but they sell items at a worth higher than the MRP. "These wine shops are also adulterating the liquor because of which the health of our husbands is deteriorating," the ladies mentioned.
In a memorandum, the crowd mentioned the district authority will have to give permission to open a brand new MSIL shop in Kagwad. "If not, then the authorities must close all the existing wine shops and declare Kagwad a liquor-prohibited town," it demanded.
