KANPUR: Uttar Pradesh DGP OP Singh on Tuesday stated the law and order scenario within the state had advanced and police had intensified a crackdown on sought after criminals.
"The law and order situation in UP is much better...Wanted criminals are being nabbed. We have neutralised a few criminals in self defence," he instructed reporters.
"We have switched to aggressive policing to discourage criminals and anti-social elements...Officers have been asked to lead from the front and tighten the noose around lawbreakers," he stated.
On the Noida stumble upon, the DGP stated: "According to a preliminary inquiry, the sub inspector and the injured person were friends and it was not an encounter."
