Painted walls are disfigured again in twin cities

Hubballi: While work of art on partitions in public places are adding colour to Hubballi-Dharwad, some persons are pasting posters on the art work, arresting the very objective of the beautification of the dual cities.

Colour My City, a private organization, had painted the work of art in many parts of the city, together with Indira Glass House and Ashok Nagar railway bridge (Army Bridge) at Gujarat Bhavan Road. Advertisements pasted on those partitions have irked citizens. Kiran Uppar, founder of the organization, stated that he's upset with the attitude of the ones people who find themselves disfiguring the art work. “I've spoken to the Hubballi-Dharwad Municipal Corporation (HDMC) commissioner who has confident of motion,” he stated.


Uppar stated that he had decided to paint the partitions as they had been disfigured by means of cinema posters. “Our efforts yielded fruit. The pasting of cinema posters has come down. We have painted partitions at eight places across the town,” he stated.


Ramesh Patil, an art lover, stated that the railway bridge wall adores a beautiful painting of squaddies. However, some people have pasted posters on the wall. “The wall is regularly made unpleasant by means of organizers of some programmes and advertisers. Some citizens have removed the posters, but they're again once more. This is in reality upsetting,” he stated.


The factor was once also raised within the Telegram staff of HDMC officials and citizens. People introduced the risk to the attention of officials who stated that the subject has been transferred to the dept concerned within the HDMC and assured of motion.
