Noida: The district administration has stated it would shift a decades-old Shani temple in Sector 63 within a month after the NHAI sought its relocation for widening NH-24.
According to officers, the land on which the temple used to be built belongs to the public works department (PWD). In an order on Friday, the Allahabad top court docket had directed quick moving of all spiritual constructions that were constructed on public land after January 1, 2011, and encroached on roads, pathways, lanes and aspect roads. On encroachments before January 2011, the court docket directed that they be shifted from their provide position within six months.
The DM, district police leader and circle officials of police could be held in command of the encroachments on road after June 10, 2016, the court docket had stated.

While the district administration claimed it doesn’t know of any spiritual constructions bobbing up on public land after 2011, a mosque in Sector 76, which used to be built in 2011, has come beneath its radar. The Markaz Masjid used to be built on a plot given to Barola village in the sector for a graveyard. The land has now been allotted as parking space for the approaching Sector 78 metro station.
“The Authority gave us this land in lieu of a plot in Sector 49 which used to be bought for a road. It used to be intended for a graveyard, however a masjid used to be built as a result of there used to be nobody here,” stated Azad, the caretaker.
The mosque will have to be shifted somewhere else as the metro parking has to come back up at the house now. “This subject has been occurring for fairly a while. Since the Noida Authority owns the land in question, we can write to them asking them where the mosque might be shifted,” Vineet informed TOI.
Bilal Burney, chairman, Gautam Budh Nagar Waqf Board, claimed the masjid used to be not an encroachment.
