COIMBATORE: A gaggle of citizens belonging to the SC group at Majara Varappalayam in Kammalapatti village in Sulur taluk on Monday submitted a petition to the district collector looking for land patta and permanent properties.
About 150 families reside in 50 huts and shacks within the locality. “Over the previous 15 years, newly-wed couples and people who have come to reside within the locality from different places had no possibility however to sleep outdoor. Families with tots and faculty youngsters are dealing with severe difficulties,” the petition stated.
“We have to desert our huts and search a refuge when it rains closely,” stated Mayilathal, a 60-year-old lady, who lives in a shack.
As there is no poromboke land in Varappalayam, they sought land at the aspects of the Koduvai Senjeri Hill Road.
Kalavathi, some other petitioner, stated they might observe for ration playing cards and loose bathroom scheme only if they have land patta.
