Woman dies after surgery in Gurugram hospital, son billed Rs 17 lakh, files police complaint

GURUGRAM: The son of a 67-year-old girl has filed a police grievance against a city-based non-public hospital, alleging negligence in a surgical procedure carried out on her for which a final invoice of Rs 17 lakh used to be raised. The girl died 18 days after the surgical procedure, this January.
Though police have accepted the grievance, a choice on whether a case is to be registered will likely be taken simplest after the well being division conducts an inquiry and gives its file.

Savitri Devi, originally from Alwar in Rajasthan, used to be admitted to Columbia Asia on January eight. In his grievance to the police on January 27, Singh alleged the hospital then went forward and went charged him Rs 17 lakh for the entire treatment.

“We have gained the grievance and marked it to the executive scientific officer. An FIR can also be registered on this case simplest when we get a recommendation from the well being division,” mentioned inspector Vikram Nehra, SHO, Palam Vihar police station.
